Mestiza Case Study

Mestiza New York is a luxury occasion-wear brand known for its dreamy, heirloom-quality dresses — featured in major press, beloved by women who buy pieces to pass down, and built on a mission of individuality and craftsmanship. GrowthHit has managed Mestiza's paid social program for five-plus years running: Meta (Facebook + Instagram), Pinterest, and Google — scaling spend strategically across seasons, building a full seasonal creative library, and consistently delivering ROAS that made every dollar of acquisition compound.

Challenges/goals

What Mestiza Needed

  • Paid social that looked like fashion, not performance marketing. Mestiza's dresses are heirloom pieces — dreamy, nostalgic, designed to be passed down. An ad that looked like a generic DTC performance creative would have actively damaged the brand. GrowthHit built and managed a creative program that maintained editorial quality while still optimizing for conversion. The two things are not in conflict when the strategy is right.
  • A campaign architecture built around the occasion-wear calendar. Their customer doesn't buy year-round — she buys for Spring events, summer weddings, holiday parties, and special occasions. Mestiza needed a paid social partner who understood that seasonality isn't a challenge to work around, it's the strategy. GrowthHit structured the entire program around the selling calendar — new creative, new offers, new targeting for each season.
  • A systematic approach to scaling spend. Mestiza's goal when they engaged GrowthHit was to grow ecommerce by 100% — and they wanted a paid social program that could scale profitably, not just convert at low spend. That meant building the infrastructure: DPA campaigns, multi-platform distribution, creative testing cadence, and a spend tracker that gave visibility into blended performance across Facebook, Pinterest, and Google week by week.
  • A long-term partner, not a one-season fix. Five-plus years is a long time to retain a growth agency. The reason Mestiza kept GrowthHit is the same reason they hired them: a systematic approach that compounds over time. Year one builds the foundation. Year two refines the creative library. Year three unlocks the scaling ceiling. Years four and five harvest the compounding results. That's what a multi-year paid social program looks like when it's done right.

What we learned

Lessons from helping Mestiza grow

The brand story was never the problem. Here's what five years of data showed us

The brand story was never the problem. The seasonal structure was.

Mestiza had extraordinary creative assets — beautiful product, a real founder mission, press coverage, and a customer who genuinely loved the brand. What they didn't have was a paid social program built around the reality of how their customer shops. Occasion-wear is not an impulse category. Structuring campaigns around the selling calendar — Spring, Resort, Holiday, Bridal — and refreshing creative at the start of each window was the unlock. Once the seasonal architecture was in place, ROAS didn't just improve. It compounded.

DPA is the closing mechanism. Evergreen is the opening one.

For a brand with a catalog as rich as Mestiza's, Dynamic Product Ads aren't a retargeting tactic — they're the system that converts browsers into buyers. DPA contributed 36–47% of total purchases in every measured period and hit peaks of 50X ROAS on individual creatives. The insight: evergreen creative builds brand awareness and fills the top of funnel; DPA closes the customers who already showed intent. Running them as separate, complementary budgets — not competing line items — was the strategic decision that drove the overall ROAS improvement.

Scaling spend in fashion requires a creative calendar, not just a budget increase.

The accounts that collapse under scaled spend are the ones running the same creative at 4X the budget. Mestiza's program scaled from $2,400/week to $8,900/week in Facebook spend in under 90 days — without a ROAS collapse — because every budget increase was paired with fresh seasonal creative. New spend requires new creative hooks. The brands that treat a budget increase as the only lever pull burn their audiences out and wonder why ROAS cratered. Creative refresh cadence is what allows paid social to scale.
